I learned a lot from the book "The Everglades and the Gulf Coast". I learned that the Everglades is in danger because of the way people are harming it. For example, people are draining out the water and it is harming the animals that live in the water and for the drinking supply that the animals need. Also people are cutting down Mangrove trees which is a important habitat in the Everglades for houses that don't need to be there. I strongly believe that we should all try to help save the Everglades.

I loved the book Hoot by Carl Hiaasen because it is touching, funny, and interesting. It is about a boy who just moved to Coconut Cove, Florida, and makes a few interesting and strange friends. With his new friends, they attempt to stop a company from bulldozing a construction site for a new restaurant that they are building. They try to stop the company because the site that they are working on is actually home to many burrowing owls. Once the site is cleared and bulldozed, many of the owls will be killed, and their homes will be gone. Hoot is a fantastic book, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good read!

I loved Mango-Shaped Space because it teaches you how not to judge someone by what they do or think. In the Mango-Shaped Space a girl named Mia has synthesis. Synthesis is a "disease" where people see, hear, smell, and taste things with colors. In the book Mia talks about how life is with synthesis
