Review: Victoria Huntington is an heiress who does not want to get married (bad experience watching her mother's marriage to her stepfather). Lucas Colebrook needs to marry an heiress to save his newly inherited estate. He engages her in adventure (she dresses up in mens clothing and they visit a gambling hell and a brothel). They do end up together although nothing goes that smoothly. Meanwhile, someone is stalking Lauren, leaving her items that belonged to her dead stepfather and trying to kill her. The bad guys are pretty obvious, the motives less so. Lauren is kind of rash and rather annoying at times. One shouldn't go out to the bad parts of London without some knowledge of self-defense, in my opinion. I totally understand Lucas' exasperation with her....Check Library Catalog
