Makers, a six-part PBS series, profiles the impact women have had over the past 50 years in six industries: comedy, politics, space, war, business, and Hollywood. Women in Space, directed by Michael Epstein, traces the history of women pioneers in the U.S. space program and features the next generation of women engineers, mathematicians, and astronauts – a new group of pioneers who continue to make small but significant steps forward A panel discussion will follow the screening and feature: Linda D’Aquila, representative of the League of Women Voters of Hillsborough County to the Hillsborough County Commission on the Status of Women Dr. Kathleen Moore, Former Associate VP for Academic Affairs & Education Outreach Affiliated Faculty for the University of South Florida Sylvia Carley, President, Marion & Associates educational consulting group and active member and historian of Gamma Theta Omega, the local chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
