As part of The Hyde Collection’s Andrew Wyeth: An American Legend exhibition (June 12-September 5, 2010), two films will be screened: Andrew Wyeth: Self Portrait Snow Hill, 1995 was produced by Wyeth’s wife Betsy. This “authorized” film biography covers over 60 years of the artist and his greatest works, family photographs, home movies, letters and the first interview with Wyeth’s model, Helga Testorf. Although Christina’s World won’t be on view during the exhibition, it is Wyeth’s most beloved and famous painting and the title of the second film which won four Emmys and is narrated by Julie Harris. Erin Budis Coe, Chief Curator and Deputy Director of The Hyde Collection will lead a discussion after the films.
