"Inspiration Street: Two City Blocks That Helped Change America" is Darrell Laurant’s remarkable story of a group of African Americans who lived in the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Pierce Street, Lynchberg, Virginia, after the Civil War and on through the 1920s-40s, and what they accomplished during the days of segregation and beyond. This author talk and book signing, the third of 3 presentations for our Black History Celebration 2017 is produced by The Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library, and funded in part by the New York State Council on the Arts-Folk Arts Program with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature.
