Event Details

Mike + Ruthy have assembled a new band and, as was the case with their last one, The Mammals, fans and critics alike are showing a lot of love. They play with jubilation--as exciting and powerful as any quintet out there, mixing up fiddle and banjo with drums, bass, pedal steel and organ.Their debut album, Bright as You Can (June 2015) is hailed as "One of the year's standout Americana albums" (Boston Globe), "In the vanguard of today's vibrant folk revival" (Pop Matters), "honoring the great musical traditions of the past while at the same time welcoming, with open arms, the future of what music can be” (Folk Alley). www.mikeandruthy.com Hosted by the Folklife Center at Crandall Public Library, and funded in part by the Friends of Crandall Public Library and the New York State Council on the Arts-Folk Arts Program, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
