Live! Folklife Concert: The North and South Dakotas

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Crandall Public Library
Christine L. McDonald Community Room

Event Details

The Dakotas were created in 2011 when founding members Zack Hay, Mark Retajczyk and Colin Hunt set out to craft a sound that paid homage to the spirit of old-time American music, mountain folk and singer-songwriter traditions. With the addition of drummer Mike Graves and utility man Nayt Patenaude, the band continued honing in on a sound containing elements of bluegrass, country, folk, honky-tonk, and rock & roll. The mixture of each members’ different musical background has culminated in a unique, harmony-rich, genre sweeping style determined to break up the monotony of the modern airwaves. www.nsdakotas.com Free live concert produced by the Folklife Center, and made possible with funds from the Friends of Crandall Public Library and the New York State Council on the Arts-Folk Arts Program, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature.
