Important Messages

This program is for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Children may participate in all activities and Library events between June 27 and August 15, 2009.
Prizes must be picked up by August 15.

1. Children entering sixth grade and younger may join the online Summer Reading Program. Pre-registration begins on Monday, June 15, 2009. Children may record the books that they read between Saturday, June 27 and Saturday, August 15.

2. Children third grade and younger must record 300 minutes of reading library books. Children may read any library book within their reading level. Younger children may have someone read to them

3. In addition to reading library books and recording his/her progress online, each child must visit the library 3 times (one visit/stamp per day) between June 27 and August 15, 2009 in order to complete the Summer Reading Program. A volunteer at the booth in the Children’s Room will give each child a visitor’s card with room for three date stamps.

4. When all the guidelines have been met, the child will receive a free paperback book and book bag provided by the Friends of the Library. Each child will also receive an invitation to a party at the Library on Saturday, August 22.

6. Children will receive a prize package only once during the 2009 Summer Reading Program. The last day to pick up prizes is Saturday, August 15, 2009.
