The Grantsmanship Center’s five-day Grantsmanship Training Program® is a comprehensive, hands-on workshop. To register and participate, you must be able to send the same person to all five days of the training. Participants are trained in the full grant development process— from researching funding sources to writing and reviewing grant proposals — through individual exercises, small group projects, and lectures. Course graduates receive 12 months of follow-up Membership support, including proposal reviews and access to GrantDomain, The Grantsmanship Center’s database of funders. Participating organizations are receiving full scholarships to attend the regularly $895 training.

In the five-day Grantsmanship Training Program you’ll learn to:

• Use The Grantsmanship Center’s proven model for developing a proposal—a model so effective that many funders use the same structure for their grant applications

• Demonstrate your organization’s credibility and capacity

• Develop a compelling, fact-based description of the problem or need your program will address

• Understand goals, outcomes, objectives, methods, and outputs—and how to not mix them up

• Develop proposal outcomes that can be measured and evaluated

• Create a logical, credible work plan and a timeline

• Design a program evaluation that you can actually implement

• Develop a budget that answers the questions all funders ask

• Identify grantmakers who are most likely to fund your programs

• Interpret grant application guidelines

• Think the way funders do – and evaluate grant proposals from their point of view

• Work with funders as partners

• Practice the art and ethics of grantsmanship

Plus you’ll be eligible for CEU credit: Full participation in the Grantsmanship Training Program is applicable for up to 33.0 continuing education points in Category 1.B - Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

• A comprehensive notebook of training materials

• A completed draft proposal, one you worked on with other team members

You’re not alone when the class is over! As a graduate of the Grantsmanship Training Program, you’ll receive one year of full membership in The Grantsmanship Center’s Membership Program at no additional cost. This can help you…

• Strengthen a proposal. You’ll have a full year after the training to submit a proposal to one of our trainers for advice on how to improve it.

• Find funders. You’ll receive a full year of access to our user-friendly, continuously updated database of foundation, corporate, and federal grantmakers. GrantDomain will help you target appropriate funders, while saving you aggravation, time, and money.
