Our theme for 2018: Team Work Makes the Dream Work

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Scott Farthing

◾Dr. Scott Farthing is currently Director of Choral and Vocal Music and Professor of Music at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo. Dr. Farthing has recently composed works for the Heartland Men's Chorus, St. Louis Women's Chorale, the National ACDA Junior-High Honor Choir, and the Kansas City Children's Chorus. In addition to conducting and composing, he continues working on collaborative projects with the Theatre and Dance Departments and has directed productions including Legally Blonde, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Godspell, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors and many more. These collective experiences have provided him with innumerable team work lessons over the years and he will be sharing these with us so we can apply them to our own groups and work experiences.

◾Author Sue Halpern
Sue Halpern is the author of “A Dog Walked Into A Nursing Home”. Her journalism and criticism have appeared in Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, The New York Times magazine, The New York Review of Books, and Conde Nast Traveler, among many other publications. She is a scholar in residence at Middlebury College, where she runs the Narrative Journalism Fellowship. She was a Rhodes Scholar and a Guggenheim fellow and is married to the writer and activist Bill McKibben. Her newest book, “Summer Hours at the Robbers Library” takes an observant look at contemporary life and its refugees. Halpern’s novel is an unforgettable tale of family...the kind you come from and the kind you create. This book is already getting rave reviews and is listed on many “must-read” lists!
