 Friends of Big Bone Presentation: This story is both a tale of natural and American history. It revolves around three fascinating individuals: President Thomas Jefferson, George-Louis Leclerc
Buffon- world-renowned naturalist, and a very large, dead moose. The theory of
degeneracy was at the center of the story and far outlived Jefferson and Buffon, continuing to have scientific, economic, and political implications for a 100 years.
