Event Details

Chair Tai Chi uses all of the concepts and flowing choreographed movements of standing Tai Chi except it is performed in a seated position. Chair Tai Chi is a good mind body exercise for people of all ages. It is often called “Meditation in Motion” because it connects the mind and the body to achieve health and well-being. Chair Chi, as it is often called, is an excellent exercise for people who may have concerns about balance and want to improve their stability. For some, these concerns arise after a fall and worry that it might happen again. For others, arthritis or other physical issues prevent standing and moving for lengths of time. Chair Chi is perfect for people who live in small places but want to do a daily exercise. In this session, the presenter will teach the participants a set of movements that can be done at home. Take-home materials will be provided. For more information, contact Jenni at jjohnson@cob.org or 360-778-7217.
