Event Details

Co-sponsored by the Bellingham Public Library, this important presentation addresses what Advanced Medical Interventions are. In this age of ever advancing medical technology it can be difficult to stay up to date on the latest strategies to keep us well and thriving. The information provided in this presentation is important when creating your own Advance Care Directive, something every adult should consider. ICU Nurses Maureen "Koala" RN and Cathy RN BSN work in an Intensive Care Unit. The ICU consists of adult medical and surgical patients who have sustained cardiac surgery, strokes, traumas, severe infections and lung disease. These patients typically require full or partial life sustaining measures. Cathy and Koala will present in layperson's terms the realities of what these Advanced Medical Interventions mean to the average person and their families.
