The Little White Horse

JK Rowling has said that this was one of her favorite books and I can see why. It is a classic fairy tale of good vs. evil with a love story or two or three. All it takes is a bit of magic and the right person at the right time. Great story for kids of all ages.

Queer, There, and Everywhere
Review
Some really great blurbs on famous (possibly)queer people throughout history. I say possibly because using modern-day terms to describe historical figure's identities can be complicated and/or disrespectful to that individual. But it is absolutely important to highlight the queer aspects of historical figures so that we as modern-day citizens have a well-rounded understanding that queer people have always existed and will continue to exist. This was a really great starting point for those who want a quick history lesson on famous queer people. It'll make you laugh, it'll make you cry, and you'll learn a thing or two in the process. Do you know the person who invented the high-five? I didn't, until I read this book.  Queer there and everywhere : 23 people who changed the world / Sarah Prager ; illustrations by Zoë More O'Ferrall.

The Secret History of Wonder Woman by Jill Lepore
Review
The book provided an interesting context for the character of Wonder Woman, including its roots in feminism and the suffragette movement, and the unconventional relationships of the author's family. The connection to Margaret Sanger was fascinating. Ms. Lepore's research was impressive.  The secret history of Wonder Woman / Jill Lepore.
