Come explore the hidden gems in this special library. This program is only available for Waukegan Public Library card holders. Show your Waukegan Public Library card to the Chicago Botanic Garden Gatehouse and give your registered name. Registration is limited to 40 families.

Rare Seeds, Creative Harvest: Artist Books Inspired by the Rare Book Collection.
Scarce botanical works are inspiration for not only scholars and students, but poets and artists as well. Using John Gerard's Herball and an obscure seventeenth century work on zoophytes as starting points, this exhibition features a unique artist's book as well as poetry combined with art.
2 pm Rare book viewing (ages 10 and over) The Herball by John Gerard published in 1636 and other selected rare books.
2 pm Children’s program (near the rare book room).
2:30 - 4 pm Explore all that the Chicago Botanic Garden has to offer.
